Why illegal in some state, but legal in others? Well truth is, it actually is legal in all states. But states have bills and laws so make sure that it is literally impossible for doctors to perform assisted suicide. As said in my last finding paragraph post, assisted suicide is protected by the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. “Just because a county has not defined its criminal code on this specific action does not mean all assisters will go free” (Derek Humphry). By this quote, it shows how it is legal in some states, but not legal in others because like I said, assisted suicide is legal in all states, but in some states where it is not legal; it’s actually bills and laws keeping doctors from performing this action.
