Quote, Summary, Source Analysis, and Citation #4

Quote:
“He pleaded to be put out of his misery. Matthew wanted to die now. His pleas went unanswered. Unable to ignore Matthew's repeated cry, I removed a .30 caliber pistol from his dresser drawer, walked to the hospital, and shot and killed my brother. I was tried for murder.”

Summary:
In this quote it talks about how a human wanted to die so bad that he actually experimented with x-rays. Matthew wanted to die. He did not want to be on this earth any longer than he had to. After Matthew experimented with x-rays, he lost his nose, his left hand, and two fingers on his right hand, he was blind, and part of his jaw. So after he pleaded so many times to his brother, Harold, his brother shot him with a .30 caliber gun and shot his brother. Harold was tried for murder.

Source Analysis: In this source, it talks about how the new types of medicine have actually helped people be taken out of their “misery”. It says that with the new advancements in medicine, doctors can give patients pills as a relaxer and a pain killer. Also how in California, they are trying to pass a act which would allow a doctor to end a patients life upon request.
